Even if the social search playing field hasn’t been completely defined yet, one of the key takeaways from the early actions of Google, Bing, and Facebook is that as marketers, we need to start seeing our search engine optimization strategy and our social media strategy as utterly intertwined. SEO-ing your web content is a great way to generate easy traffic. That being said, you won’t get traffic instantly by writing a few blog posts. To prevent users from linking to one version of a URL and others linking to a different version (this could split the reputation of that content between the URLs), focus on using and referring to one URL in the structure and internal linking of your pages. If you do find that people are accessing the same content through multiple URLs, setting up a 301 redirect from non-preferred URLs to the dominant URL is a good solution for this. SEO is the process of implementing strategies and techniques (both on site and off site) in an effort to achieve a higher rank in search results. Typically, the higher a site is in search results, the more visitors it receives. When approaching other webmasters to link to your site; it's really important to “suggest” suitable text for them to use; i.e link code that will have the most suitable link text for your site.

Group your target keywords into 3 different buckets

Links help search engines connect the relevancy of a page with specific keywords -- based on the keywords that are used in a link’s anchor text. Cloaking is when you present different content or URLs to your visitors than you do to the search engines. Along those lines, a “sneaky” redirect is when site owners “embed a link in JavaScript that redirects the user to a different page with the intent to show the user a different page than the search engine sees… The more your website gets passed around between users all over the country (or even the world), the more popular search engines will start to take notice of your website, and the higher up it will generally appear in rankings and results. How do your competitors rank?Pick out a keyword for which you want to optimize your site. Check out the top 20 search results: Are your competitors somewhere in there? What is your ranking for this keyword? This information should help you to find a good niche for you and your keywords, where your competitors are not operating. It may also be that you find keywords for which it is worth joining the competition. For those who can’t find any good place to apply a keyword or phrase, using them in the links built to other websites will help them to stand out for readers.

The next step is often forgotten

Content freshness matters. Keeping your content up to date helps search engines understand that your site is accurate today. The search engines must execute multiple tasks very well to provide relevant search results. In a link building campaign, you have to find target Web sites in the first place, review them to decide if asking for a link is worthwhile, identify the contact person and send them a customized link request. Are internal links as valuable as external links? Your target keywords should also be in the H1 tag, but your H1 can differ from your title tag A Google study showed that more than 80% of users search stores and local service providers online before visiting them. This fact makes it important to optimize your website for the local search. The online visit is a basis for more customers and more sales.

Keyword mapping

According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "SEO strategies are most effective when implemented consistently and methodically. To begin with, you have to decide the initial goals you wish to achieve by instituting SEO. Whether you want to attract more visitors, gain more viewers for your blog, acquire new prospects or increase conversion." The intro of the articleshould be short, focused, and to the point. This will help the reader prepare for what they are going to learn from reading the article. Focus on publishing compelling, quality content that is uniquely different and more valuable than anything else out there. That usually means it’s long-form content. The ultimate goal of any marketer is to create a diverse range of high quality backlinks from various credible sources. But not all marketers tend to achieve this pinnacle. It takes time and patience and a lot of strategizing and in the end it is never that straight forward and many marketers in the process tend to compromise on the quality of such links and end up deterring their own websites with toxic links. Blogging is a great way to stay up to date while easily generating new, relevant content. Blogging regularly (ideally once a week at a minimum) can have significant implications for search engine optimization, since each new blog entry represents a new web page.

Real Websites take time to index

It is advisable to check regularly on your website’s rank and positions in the SERPs in order to assess whether your SEO measures are having an effect. But because there are also many factors which you cannot influence, you should not get too stressed by rankings. It is perfectly normal if your website sometimes jumps 1-5 places. But if you manage to get your site 10, 20, or 30 places higher, you should be proud of yourself. Google’s featured snippet is a tool through which Google interacts with searchers. The more inputs Google receives from searchers, the better becomes its understanding of what they want. Use the rel=nofollow tag in the links to websites that you do not trust, you think maybe using spamming techniques or you do not want to help in the search engines. Remember, the reason that website isn't bringing in customers is because you have given them no reason to come back. Whenever possible, avoid changing URL structures. The easiest way to prevent broken redirects is to avoid creating the redirects in the first place.

Focus keywords and focus keyphrases

When writing an article or some content for your web page, remember- ‘spices add flavour to a dish and make it more appealing to our senses. In the same way, keywords are like spices to our content. Keyword density is good but, to create rich content, there should be variety in the keywords used. Search engines aren't good at completing online forms (such as a login), and thus any content contained behind them may remain hidden. In link analysis, search engines measure who is linking to a site or page and what they are saying about that site/page. Humans are lazy creatures (That is probably the reason the ready-to-make food sell so much). They don’t have the patience to wait too long for anything. A faster loading website gives the user an amazing experience, which tempts him to come back again to visit your website. It acts like bait to them. The robots exclusion standard or robots.txt, is a standard used by websites to communicate with web crawlers and robots. It specifies which areas of the website should not be processed. Not all robots cooperate with robots.txt; namely: email harvesters, spambots, malware, and robots which scan for security vulnerabilities.
